In Georgia just a while ago Where the two sister rivers flow There was the convent. One can still behold Its church vault with no censer smoke Its towers with no prayer чАнтс Of monks at a late hour for us Pillars of gates sent crashing down The only old man's guarding now This debris sweeping down the dust From gravestones saying with deep trust About the glory and the year The Georgian people were entrusted To Russia so the grace of God Has come to Georgia which was blooming Without fear of any foe In shade of gardens from then on.
