I Keep a Place for You

Melancholic deep house and organic house at 118 BPM, led by breathy female vocals with intimate phrasing and restrained harmonies. Soft hand percussion, rounded kick, and a pulsing sub-bass support deep atmospheric pads, muted plucked synths, and subtle field recordings of wind and leaves. A gradual progression adds delicate rhythmic detail and harmonic layers, keeping the texture dreamy and introspective.

[Verse 1] Your coat is hanging by the door A little rain still on the sleeve I leave the kitchen light on low As if you might come back for tea [Pre-Chorus] The window moves against the frame The room remembers how you stayed [Chorus] I keep a place for you beside me Though the hours turn and change Somewhere under all this quiet I still say your name [Verse 2] The paper map is folded wrong Your pencil mark is by the bay I trace the road we never took Then tuck the page away [Pre-Chorus] The window moves against the frame The room remembers how you stayed [Chorus] I keep a place for you beside me Though the hours turn and change Somewhere under all this quiet I still say your name [Outro] I leave the kitchen light on low And let the evening have its way
